about
There's a moment just before a photograph happens — when the light falls a certain way, or a stranger pauses mid-stride, or a city exhales — and you either notice it or you don't.
Mayank notices.
Based in Bangalore, he moves through the world the way he moves through a frame: unhurried, quietly curious, always looking slightly off-center. His photographs span streets and temples, monsoon skies and still water — not a portfolio of genres, just a record of paying attention.
Photography is not how he makes a living. It's how he stays alive to things.
the name
Chitrakshan combines two Sanskrit words: चित्र (chitra, picture) and क्षण (kshan, moment). The work is exactly that — a picture of a moment. The Devanagari character च at the top of every page is the first letter of चित्रक्षण — a quiet nod to the Sanskrit roots that name the craft.
